Porsche Carrera Cup Asia announces 2016 Australia debut
Shanghai. As the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia crowned Chris van der Drift and Yuey Tan the 2015 overall and Class B champions during a star-studded Night of Champions awards evening in Shanghai, the series was already preparing to power into its 14th season stronger than ever. The impressive 2016 calendar will see the ties between the Porsche family across Asia Pacific strengthened further when the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia joins its Australian counterpart for its debut at the Sydney Motorsport Park in August.

van der Drift and Tan crowned 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champions
Shanghai. Kamlung Racing’s Chris van der Drift clinched the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia overall championship after the title chase went right down to the wire at the final race of the 14-round season. Team Jebsen’s Yuey Tan of Singapore lifted the Class B honours by a single point after a white-knuckle finale which almost saw the longed-for title slip through his fingers.

Nine finalists announced for Porsche China Junior Programme shootout
Shanghai. Porsche China has announced the nine finalists in its groundbreaking Porsche China Junior Programme, all of whom will be in Shanghai this weekend for the final and championship-deciding rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) 6 Hours of Shanghai before taking part in an exhaustive two-day shootout evaluation.

Porsche Carrera Cup Asia heads home for epic season finale
Shanghai. The 13th season of the region’s premier sportscar championship is heading for a season finale of truly epic proportions as the 28-strong Porsche Carrera Cup Asia field heads home to Shanghai for Rounds 13 and 14 from October 30 to 31. Closing the season in fitting style as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Shanghai, both the overall and Class B championship titles have once again gone right down to the wire.

Menzel nominated for Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme
Shanghai. Seventeen-year-old Nico Menzel is the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia nomination to the Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme 2016. The nomination means that Menzel, who has made a spectacular sportscar racing debut this season with PICC Team StarChase and is currently third on the overall championship leaderboard, will join the best young drivers from the Porsche Cups around the world in a shootout to be held in Germany on October 5 and 6.

Tung conquers the Lion City as Perfetti bids farewell with victory at home
Singapore. Budweiser Team Absolute Racing’s Tung Ho-Pin took an emphatic win in Round 12 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at Singapore’s Marina Bay street circuit, pulling out an impressive gap of 2.842 seconds at the flag from second-place finisher and Round 11 winner, Clearwater Racing’s Craig Baird. Third over the line after the 12-lap race was championship leader, Chris van der Drift of Kamlung Racing, who made his debut in the Lion City at the weekend.

Clearwater Racing’s Craig Baird once again demonstrated his mastery of Singapore’s tricky and unforgiving Marina Bay street circuit, taking a wheel-perfect, pole-to-flag victory in Round 11 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. Second across the line after superb performance was Budweiser Team Absolute Racing’s Tung Ho-Pin, while 17-year-old series rookie Nico Menzel gave his PICC Team StarChase their fifth consecutive podium finish on his Marina Bay Circuit debut.

Maiden victory for Menzel as van der Drift takes seventh win of season
Malaysia. Three-time Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champions, PICC Team StarChase, took their maiden victory with new driver, 17-year-old Nico Menzel of Germany, winning Round 9 at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit. Second across the line was pole-sitter, Team Porsche Holding’s Martin Ragginger, followed by Clearwater Racing’s Craig Baird of New Zealand.
