Supporting the Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race (MMER) for the first time in its history next weekend, the 28-strong field will be part of a high-profile sports car carnival expected to attract an impressive spectator turnout.
Ordos. Guest driver Allan Simonsen took victory in Round 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia today after a monumental charge through the entire 27-strong field. Second was BBTs Davide Rizzo, followed across the line by Team Betterlife’s Wang Jian Wei of China. Both drivers led the race at one stage, and both had looked good to take the win.
OrdosTeam Eagle – Jiejun & Junbaojie driver Martin Ragginger of Austria tamed arguably the most difficult circuit on the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia calendar to take victory in Round 5 at the Inner Mongolian Ordos International Circuit. Second across the line was championship leader Alexandre Imperatori of PICC Team Starchase, with reigning champion Keita Sawa of LKM Racing Team earning the final podium spot.
Ordos.Team Eagle – Jiejun & Junbaojie driver Martin Ragginger of Austria conquered the unforgiving Ordos International Circuit today to take his maiden Porsche Carrera Cup Asia pole. Ragginger was the man to finally put an end to the hitherto unbeaten run of Team StarChase racer, and championship points leader Alexandre Imperatori, who was second fastest in the session. Third quickest was reigning champion Keita Sawa of LKM Racing Team who overtook Team Jebsen’s Rodolfo Avila in the closing minutes of the session.

The Ordos International Circuit in Inner Mongolia may not be the best-known racetrack in the world, but its unique combination of elevations, tricky bends and constantly-changing surface conditions make it the ultimate test for every racing driver. For the 28-strong Porsche Carrera Cup Asia field, it could well produce some surprises as the region’s premier sportscar series contests Rounds 5 and 6 of its tenth season from July 6 to 8.
Zhuhai. Alexandre Imperatori of PICC Team StarChase continued his charge towards the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia title today by taking his fourth victory in as many races. Despite starting from 8th, under the top eight reverse grid regulation, he not only powered his way into the lead mid-way through the 12-lap race, but had pulled out a margin of almost two seconds by the chequered flag at the Zhuhai International Circuit.
Zhuhai. Alexandre Imperatori was wheel-perfect as he converted his pole position into a third successive victory in Round 3 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, however he was lucky to be ahead of a multi-car incident off the start and into the notorious first turn, which saw the race stopped.
Zhuhai. Alexandre Imperatori maintained his perfect run in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season by snatching pole position for the start of Round 3, edging out Team Eagle – Jiejun & Junbaojie driver Martin Ragginger.

PICC Team StarChase driver Alexandre Imperatori expertly raced his way to a second-straight victory in a drama-filled Round 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, held in support of today’s FORMULA 1 UBS CHINESE GRAND PRIX. The thrilling race saw 2011 champion Keita Sawa with LKM Racing finish second, ahead of Imperatori’s team mate Tung Ho-Pin with Budweiser Team StarChase.

By the chequered flag, the 24-year-old Swiss driver had managed to build an impressive gap of 7.754 seconds from runner-up Martin Ragginger of Team Eagle- Jiejun & Junbaojie. Third across the line after 12 laps was Allan Simonsen in the Team Carrera Cup Asia car.
