Earl Bamber wins factory scholarship for the 2014 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup
Stuttgart. New Zealander Earl Bamber (23) is the winner of the Porsche Motorsport International Cup Scholarship challenge. He receives funding of 200,000 Euro for his 2014 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup campaign. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia nominated Bamber for the shootout in Oschersleben (Germany), where he managed to beat seven other top pilots from Porsche one make cups series around the world.

Shanghai, China. Earl Bamber sealed the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia championship with an emphatic victory in Round 11, thundering from pole to chequered flag to take the title with a race to spare. The 23-year-old Nexus GSH Racing driver didn’t put a wheel wrong on the way to his sixth victory in his debut season, setting the fastest lap of the 12-lap race for good measure.

With new sponsor GSH on board for the final two races of the 2013 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season, championship leader Earl Bamber put his Nexus Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on pole position for Round 11 at the Shanghai International Circuit. In one of the closest qualifying sessions in the series’ 11-year history, reigning champion Alexandre Imperatori of PICC Team StarChase put in a storming performance, ending the session just a hundredth of a second off pole.
